'Topping out' on the Beverley skyline
28th April 2008
The new Delta development, at Mill Lane in Beverley reached its pinnacle point today as it celebrated its “topping out”.
Councillor Bird, who supported the project from the outset, attended the development at 1pm today (Wednesday, April 30) to celebrate its topping out. The celebration traditionally takes place when the highest point of a new building has been constructed and represents a milestone in the life of any development.
Councillor Bird said: “I can remember this development coming to planning and I was very impressed with the design, I particularly liked the concept of the underground car parking. It is an iconic building and I felt it was well-worthy of being passed. Seeing it today, I think it has fulfilled everything I had hoped.”
Director of Westbridge Homes, Peter Lee said: “Delta represents the transformation of residential living in Beverley, moving the market town forward into 21st Century accommodation. Facilities such as the underground car parking and the shear scale of the project will have a positive impact on the community as a whole.”
Westbridge Homes have been on site for nine months with almost all homes already sold. Today’s event provided an excellent opportunity to celebrate the hard work and dedication of everyone involved before the next stage of the development begins.
